Hey! I'm Mikkel

Photographer & owner of Nítid

For more than 15 years, I stood on stage as an award winning entertainer. When I was not performing, I was often behind the camera, photographing my colleagues in their element and searching for the one image that revealed something about who they were.

Seeing how much it meant to them to have the fleeting expressions, gestures and small details that made a performance special preserved with clarity ignited something in me. Slowly, I found myself spending more time behind the lens.

That experience means I understand both sides of a moment. I understand the person presenting something they have poured hours of work into, and I understand the photographer trusted to capture it.

It is why I do not simply hide in a corner and observe. I read the room, move closer and pay attention to the details that give the whole experience its character. Today, I do that through my own photography brand, Nítid.

Why Nítid?

Nítid is Catalan for clear or sharp. Catalonia is known for experiences shaped by extraordinary attention to detail, from its gastronomy to its architecture. It is also my second home.

Through Nítid, I work with people and brands in both Norway and Spain who want to show the care, character and intention behind what they have created. The name carries that connection with me while also expressing what I want my photographs to do. I want them to bring what matters into focus.

Alongside photography, I have an academic background in psychology and am currently working on a PhD in artificial intelligence. Studying both people and technology has reinforced my belief in the value of the human eye.

Technology can generate endless visual content, but it cannot replace the understanding, intuition and genuine connection required to recognise what makes a person or brand distinctive. That belief shapes the way I photograph, with curiosity, intention and a genuine desire to understand what deserves to be noticed.

I am annoyingly obsessed with details.

To me, they are not secondary. They are often the whole point. The gesture, expression, texture or carefully considered element that turns something good into something memorable.

That is what Nítid is about. Slowing down, looking closer and creating photographs that make the character behind your work crystal clear.
